Leader In Training (LIT)

Description

Are you interested in leadership? Hoping to go beyond the camper experience at Wanakee? LIT is the stepping stone you’re looking for!

LIT is a 2 week experience. In part 1, you will learn practical leadership skills, explore the various roles of Wanakee staff and have the opportunity to earn your Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification, while still enjoying your favorite camp activities.

During part 2, you will gain work experience by shadowing counselors and leading activities during the day, returning to your LIT cohort in the evenings to debrief, unwind, and connect with one another.

PLEASE NOTE: Interested youth must submit an application and 3 references before being accepted as an LIT.

PLEASE ALSO NOTE: LITs must commit to both sessions. LITs must leave campus between sessions. Checkout for LIT part 2 is Saturday at 4pm following the Wanakee Wilderness 5K.
