Wanakee’s Board of Directors seeks people who love children, camping, and the outdoors for volunteer service positions on our Board and Committees. Board and Committee membership is a great way to make a difference in the lives of children and youth while developing and utilizing your professional talents and leadership skills on a mission-driven team.

Board of Directors

The Board of Directors are responsible for ensuring Wanakee’s mission is realized, including establishing goals and policies and providing resources that enables Wanakee’s ministry to function. The Board creates the vision for Wanakee’s future, makes decisions in support of that vision, and advocates on behalf of Wanakee in their churches, communities, and professions.

Committees

Communications Committee

The Communications Committee creates the annual communications plan, develops the marketing strategy and assists with content creation and design for external communications and apparel.

Facilities Committee

The Facilities Committee creates the annual and multi-year maintenance plan with an emphasis on risk reduction and functionality to meet Wanakee’s program objectives.

The Finance Committee is responsible for establishing the annual budget, reviewing financial performance and proposing policies concerning financial matters.

Fundraising and Donor Engagement Committee

The Fundraising and Donor Engagement Committee streamlines Wanakee’s fundraising processes and annual cycle and seeks funding through major giving, grants, and other partnerships.

Program Committee

The Program Committee develops the annual program and periodically review the goals and objectives of our programs. They serve as the key liaison between the site director and volunteer leaders prior to the summer camping season, including event director recruitment.
