Fall Family Camp Weekend - Saturday, May 16th 2026

Make camp part of your family’s fall tradition! Fall Family Camp Weekend is an opportunity for families to step away from their busy routines, stay together at camp in the Rec Hall (or BYO tent!), and enjoy a weekend filled with fresh air, friendship, and favorite camp activities.

Spend the weekend hiking, boating, making crafts, gathering around campfires, playing games, and taking in the beauty of the fall colors. Families will also get to participate in our apple butter making—and enjoying the results along the way!

Your weekend includes three meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. Whether your family has been coming to camp for years or this is your first visit, this is a wonderful chance to slow down, reconnect, and make lasting memories together.

Cost:

  • Adults: $100 per person

  • Teens, ages 13–17: $65 per person

  • Children, age 12 and under: $50 per person

APPLE BUTTER FAMILY FUN DAY

Bring the whole family to camp for a cozy, hands-on fall day! Families, alumni, friends, and community members of every age are invited to join us as we gather around the campfire to boil and can apple butter together.

Enjoy the simple fun of spending a day at camp: take a hike, play games, reconnect with old friends, and enjoy other favorite camp activities. Of course, no Apple Butter Day would be complete without tasting the finished product—enjoy fresh apple butter on a warm biscuit and take home a jar to share.

This event is free to attend. An optional lunch will be available for $6 per person. Take home a jar of apple butter of your own with a donation of any size!

SENIOR HIGH FALL RETREAT

Come back to camp, reconnect with friends, and enjoy a fall weekend designed especially for high school campers! Stay in Wanakee’s iconic Farmhouse and spend time with the people and places that make camp feel like home.

The weekend will be full of favorite camp experiences: stargazing, campfires, s’mores, waterfront time, games, and plenty of time to simply hang out with friends. It is a chance to take a break from school, deepen friendships, and enjoy the fun, faith, and community of camp in the fall.

Three meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday are included. Bring your camp spirit, your favorite sweatshirt, and your friends for a memorable autumn weekend at Wanakee.

Cost: $135

FALL WORK DAY

Help get Wanakee ready for the winter season at our Fall Work Day! We’ll spend the day caring for camp, tackling needed projects, and preparing our 227 acres for the months ahead.

There is a place for every volunteer, regardless of experience or skill level. Projects may include clearing and hauling brush, light carpentry, putting away equipment, organizing supplies, and other work that helps keep camp safe, welcoming, and ready for the next season.

Camp depends on the generosity of people who give their time and energy throughout the year. Invite your family, friends, church, youth group, or team to join you—everyone is welcome. Volunteers ages 17 and under must attend with an adult.

Coffee, light snacks, and lunch will be available for all volunteers. We will work rain or shine, including on outdoor projects, so come prepared for the forecast and wear sturdy clothes you can work in.
